Miami Marlins Collaborates with Miami Beach for Play Ball
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to announce the Miami Marlins will be hosting their Play Ball
event at Miami Beach's "Sandy's Beach," located at Lummus Park. Play Ball is MLB's signature youth
engagement activity that is featured in events all around the United States and Canada. The Play Ball
initiative is baseball's global effort to encourage young people and communities to engage in baseball-
or softball-related activities, including formal leagues, special events and casual forms of play. More
information on the program, as well as future event updates, can be found at wyyy_Play B all_org.
The free event in Miami Beach is open to the public and would consist of a series of baseball/softball
activities, Billy the Marlin visit, alumni appearances, and distribution of bat & ball sets for the first 500 kids
that attend.
