SUBJECT: Personnel Board Group 1 Election
Pursuant to City Code Section 2-190.69, the Office of the City Clerk commenced election
procedures to elect the employee representative of Group 1 for the Personnel Board, for the term
commencing August 1, 2023 and ending July 31, 2026. Group 1 consists of "Police Department,
Fire Department, and Ocean Rescue Division employees."
On May 25, 2023, a notice was sent to eligible Group 1 employees informing them that an election
had been called to elect the Group 1 employee representative to the Personnel Board. The notice
was disseminated via e-mail to Police Chief, Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Ocean Rescue
Division Chief, and their support staff, with instructions to post and distribute the notice among their
employees. Group 1 employees had from Monday, June 5, 2023 to Friday, June 16, 2023 to
declare their interest in qualifying to run as the Group 1 employee representative on the Personnel
Board.
The incumbent to the Group 1 seat, Alejandro Bello, from Police Department, was the only
employee who filed to fill the vacancy in Group 1; therefore, Alejandro Bello was deemed elected
without opposition as the Group 1 employee representative to the Personnel Board, to fill the three-
year term ending on July 31, 2026.

We, the undersigned Clerk and Witness, do hereby certify that:
