T he pu rpo se of this L TC is to upda te the M a yor and C ity C om m ission on the status of the
C o mm ission C ha m b e rs rem o deling pro je ct, as previously advised via L TC# 004-2023.
T he F a cilitie s M anage m e nt D ivision is currently w orking to execute the Contract fo r
C on struction w ith Le e C on struction ("th e C on tra ctor ") to com m ence the Com m ission
C ham be rs ren o vatio n pro je ct. T he C o ntractor w ill m obilize and begin the dem olition phase
of the pro je ct im m e d ia te ly fo llow ing the July 28, 2023, Finan c e and Econom ic R esiliency
C o m m itt ee m ee tin g .
T he C o m m ission Cha m be rs renovation pro je ct is on a 120-day schedule, tentatively slated
fr om July 28 , 20 2 3 th ro ugh N o vemb er 28, 2023. Th e rem odel wi ll affect both th e 3"° an d
4 floor po rti on s of th e C om mi s sion Ch am bers at Ci ty Hal l, ren ovating a comb ine d total
area of a pp ro ximat el y 4,02 5 squ ar e feet.

in cl u din g E co n om ic D e velo pm ent, M arketing and C om m un ic ations, IT., Parking ,
Pla nn in g, an d P o lice to relo cate and host scheduled Com m ission and Com m ittee
m e e ting s at th e M ia m i Be a ch C o nve ntion C en ter ("M B C C") dur ing the construction phase
of the pro je ct. A ll ne ce ssa ry step s are being taken to ensure that the tem porary
arran g em e nts at the M B C C em ulate the environm ent of our existing C om m ission
C ha m b er as close ly as po ssib le.
