SUBJECT: Gift of Life Event with Miami Beach Police
This Letter to the Mayor and City Commission is to advise you that on August 22, 2023,
from 11 AM- 2 PM, the Miami Beach Police Department will host a community event with
the Gift of Life. The Gift of Life's mission is to cure cancer through cellular therapy. The
purpose of the event is to spread awareness and engage the public about blood cancer.
At the ceremony, the community will witness the first-time meeting of a donor and recipient
while learning how to save a life by joining the registry. This is a call for action by
encouraging individuals to complete a swab. Particularly, we are seeking City of Miami
Beach employees to get swabbed on their lunch break. We will have lunch box certificates
available for their convenience.
Swabbing will commence after the ceremony from (11 :30 AM- 2:00 PM). There will be two
swabbing locations:
Miami Beach headquarters courtyard
City of Miami Beach City Hall courtyard
