SUBJECT: Back-to-School Resource Fair
The purpose of the Letter to Commission is to announce that the Office of Housing and
Community Services is hosting a back-to-school resource fair for Miami Beach families
on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens Banyan Ballroom
and Lawn, located at 2000 Convention Center Drive, from 11 :00 am to 3:00 pm.
The 2023-2024 academic year for Miami-Dade County Public Schools begins on
Thursday, August 17, 2023. To ensure every student and their family is ready for
another stimulating and rewarding school year, the Office of Housing and Community
Services will distribute backpacks and the necessary supplies.
Families will also have the opportunity to discover a multitude of resources while
enjoying games, activities, light refreshments and snacks, and raffles. The event will
host a variety of community stakeholders and service providers throughout Miami-Dade
County, including City-sponsored programs.
The event is easily accessible by trolley, and parking is available on the south side of
the venue on 19th Street and in the City Hall parking garage.
