Hudak, City Manager�� DATE: August1,2023 SUBJECT: COMMISSION CHAMBERS RENOVATION PROJECT UPDATE The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L TC) is to update the Mayor and City Commission on the status of the Commission Chambers remodeling project, as previously advised via L TC# 288-2023. As reported on June 26, 2023, the Commission Chamber renovation project is on a 120- day schedule, tentatively slated from July 28, 2023 through November 28, 2023. The remodel will affect both the third and fourth floor portions of the Commission Chambers at City Hall, renovating a combined total area of approximately 4,025 square feet. During the construction period, nearly all City Commission, Board, Committee and Land Use meetings will be hosted at a Temporary Commission Chamber at the Miami Beach Convention Center {MBCC), located at 1901 Convention Center Drive, Meeting Rooms 222-225, on the second floor. A handful of meetings in November will be held at the New World Center (500 17 Street). Below is a detailed schedule of the relocated meetings. Beyond attending meetings in-person, residents, businesses and stakeholders can continue to watch these meetings live on the City's Facebook page, You Tube page and via the Zoom link for each meeting. Viewers can also continue participating via Zoom. As part of the renovation, our government-access cable television station MBTV will be offline along with the City website stream. Please find additional details pursuant to the meeting relocations below. Directions to the Temporary Commission Chambers Please enter the MBCC via Convention Center Drive. Meeting Rooms 222-225 are located on the second floor, south side. Please refer to "Exhibit A", attached. Security Upon arriving at Miami Beach Convention Center, attendees will be required to check in at the Visitor Management Station located in the Ground Floor Lobby and obtain a Visitor Pass before proceeding to Rooms 222-225 on Level Two. There will be signage throughout the MBCC indicating the direction of travel. Parking Meeting attendees can continue to park at the City Hall Garage ( 1755 Meridian Avenue) or at 17th Street Garage (640 17 Street). At the New World Center, free Wi-Fi will be available using NewWorldFreeWiFi, no password required.
