Hudak, City Mana e September 19, 2023 SUBJECT: Code Compliance and Environment and Sustainability Departments Achieve International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001 :2015) Quality Management System Recertification I am pleased to announce that the Miami Beach Code Compliance and Environment and Sustainability Departments successfully achieved their ISO9001 :2015 Quality Management System (OMS) recertification! Both departments first obtained this globally recognized certification in 2019 after months of hard work developing their OMS, and recently completed the external audit which confirms their OMS continues to be effectively maintained. The recertification process includes an internal audit, leadership meeting, and recertification audit, in addition to the organization's continual improvements. The recertification audit took place over a three-day period, where the external auditor reviewed evidence from both departments to demonstrate their conformity of all the applicable ISO9001 :2015 standards including context of the organization, leadership, planning, support, operation, performance evaluation, and improvement. The auditor found zero non-conformities. ISO9001 :2015 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a OMS. Organizations use this standard to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. The Code Compliance and Environment and Sustainability Departments also provided evidence that uphold their quality policy: "The City of Miami Beach is committed to providing the highest quality services to our community by continuously improving the quality management system and service delivery, as well as efficiently using our resources to enhance the resilience and quality of life of our community." The ISO9001 :2015 standards guide more than one million companies and organizations in more than 170 countries to ensure quality is built into their management systems. The Miami Beach Code Compliance and Environment and Sustainability Departments are guided by these standards as they work to meet their quality policy and provide high quality services to all who live, work, and play in our vibrant, tropical, historic community.
