SUBJECT: Monthly Sponsorship & Donation Report: September 1 -October 16, 2023
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to provide the Mayor and Commission with a monthly
update on the donations accepted by the City of Miami Beach, under the City Manager's authority
as per Resolution 2022-32284. The resolution delegated to the City Manager the authority to
accept donations and sponsorships for the benefit of the City in the amount equal to or lesser
than $25,000.00, including in-kind donations, to the extent permitted by law; further, requiring
that the City Manager release a monthly report via Letter to Commission documenting the name
of each donor, the amount of each donation, the date each donation was made, and the public
purpose that would be served by accepting each donation.
During the time period of September 1 -October 13, 2023, the administration accepted the
following donations:
Item: 800 pickleballs for the South Beach Slam Pickleball Tournament
Name of Entity Donating: Diadem Sports
Estimated Worth: $1,400
Sponsorship Date: September 27, 2023
Description: In kind donation of product to be placed within registrant gift bags and for use
during tournament play.
Item: Title Sponsorship for the South Beach Slam Pickleball Tournament
Name of Entity Donating: Fisker Inc.
Estimated Worth: $18,000
Sponsorship Date: October 1, 2023
Description: Title sponsorship for the South Beach Slam pickleball tournament. In return,
Fisker Inc. will receive marketing exposure in all South Beach Slam marketing collateral,
including the event logo that will read "South Beach Slam powered by Fisker."
Item: Live Entertainment
Name of Entity Donating: Havana 1957
Estimated Worth: $1,000
Donation Date: October 5, 2023
Description: Havana 1957 supplied live entertainment for the Hispanic Affairs Committee VIP
ceremony during the Hispanic Heritage Month Awards Ceremony, which took place on October
5, 2023.
