SUBJECT: Venetian Islands -Final asphalt milling and paving
The purpose of this LTC is to provide an update to the Mayor and City Commission for
the Venetian Islands ROW Improvements BP13C project regarding the phasing and
scheduling of the final asphalt pavement restoration for the Venetian Islands (San
Marino, Dilido and Rivo Alto Islands).
Metro Express Inc. will mobilize and commence the pavement completion and
restoration efforts on November 27, 2023.
The restoration work will begin at San Marino Island south of the Venetian Causeway.
This section of the San Marino Island will begin on November 27, 2023 and anticipated
to be completed by December 1, 2023, weather permitting. The pavement restoration
effort will resume beginning January 2024. The work will continue with San Marino
Island north of the Venetian Causeway, followed by Dilido Island and finalizing at Rivo
Alto Island.
The scope of the work at each island includes the adjustment of manholes and valve
boxes within the roadway, milling and removal of the existing asphalt, placement of the
asphalt, and roadway striping.
No-parking signs will be installed in the work area before construction activities
commence, providing notice to residents of parking restrictions.
Once work begins, close coordination will be maintained with each property owner
during construction to ens ure that access, services and deliveries are coordinated.
Project updates will be provided via community advisories on a biweekly basis, or as
needed, through completion. Project advisories will be accessible on the Capital
Improvement Projects Department's webpage, found at miamibeachfl.gov/cip. Should
