SUBJECT: Launch of Gridics Code Hub
This Letter to Commission (L TC) provides an update on the launch of the Gridics Code Hub platform as the online host of the City of Miami Beach Resiliency Code. The updated Land Development Regulations (LDRs) and Resiliency Code, which were adopted by the City Commission on February 1, 2023, became effective on June 1, 2023. Included as part of the newly adopted Code was the utilization of the Gridics platform for online code access.
The City launched the Gridics Code Hub on November 27, 2023, which provides full access to the Resiliency Code, including a 3D zoning map and property data. Gridics provides an easy to use, transparent and efficient platform for all users, including, but not limited to, residents, property and business owners, architects, developers, and city staff.
The Gridics platform will greatly assist in using, understanding, visualizing, and interpreting the LDRs. To this end, the following is noted:
•The code has been digitized into an easily searchable and shareable tool.
•The online property lookup tool delivers extensive, parcel-specific zoning data to help users getthe answers they need quickly, including providing direct links to relevant code sections.
•An interactive map with zoning information allows users to visualize various zoningrequirements, including zoning districts, historic districts, zoning overlays, parking tiers, and more.
•LOR amendments are incorporated into Gridics by city staff, thereby ensuring that the Code isupdated quickly and accurately so that stakeholders always have the most up-to-date information.
