The travelling delegation includes Oleg Bryndak, Deputy Mayor of the City of Odessa and Chief Manager of Executive Committee of City Council; Tamila Afansieva, Head of Odesa Regional Council for Peace; and Evhen Filonov, Deputy of Odessa Region and Sports Complex Head in Odessa. Miami Beach was among the first U.S. cities to demonstrate its support for the Ukrainian people following Russia’s unprovoked attack of the sovereign nation in February by bathing city hall in the blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag on Monday, Feb. 28, 2022. More recently, Miami Beach employees donated 451 hours of sick and annual leave totaling $21,887.76 to assist displaced and/or adversely affected Ukrainians through the American Red Cross.
